Membership is free.
There are no fees to be a member of storyspecies.com, but there is a requirement for you to launch yourself into the story community. We are trying to build a more grounded world that recognizes the biological origins of story and its crucial role in our being human. On our site, thoughtful people can share their interest in this subject, write reviews, present ideas, suggest readings and meetings, tell stories relevant to our interests, and learn and teach. Remember Chaucer’s student, “gladly would he learn and gladly teach.” ?
So to obtain access to all these activities and the fun they will bring you, perhaps rewards is a better word, we ask only that you send us a brief introduction to yourself. Aim for a 50 word (max) bio that will tell us where you are, and what your interests are, and how they lead you to this site. Use your real name or a nickname. Please join, and to help you write, Dr. Joseph Gold sends the following example of what he would write in order to join storyspecies.com
“I am a retired professor living in a somewhat remote location near Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada. I spend much of my time thinking and reading and writing about what it means to be human. I think that being aware or conscious means being a story creature. My story is made up of experience and how this is woven together is my identity.
I story-make and therefore I am.”
