The Cabinet shuffle under Harperism is designed to create, or rather sustain, the illusion that there is government going on. This is mere theatre and of course there is no Federal Government, no set of plans for Canada, no intention to work with Provinces, nothing except more of the same Laissez Faire management which is the essence of what we have already seen in Canada. Laissez Faire means “let it be” or let them do what they want, meaning Corporate Private Power doing what it wants. The only role for Government in this Economic Regime is to help remove all and any obstacles out of the path of the Bulldozer of Corporate Greed.
Greed and Profit is now the only goal of Business replacing people, community and widespread peace, prosperity and harmony. Safety is gone; education is going; fairness and detail is almost gone. Lies and half truths rule the land, shutting down dissent and caring. Not one single thing in the list of governance principles is altered by this Musical Chairs Charade of shuffling Ministerial portfolios. Laissez Faire has always looked like this and is always the same and always produces the same result: human society functions at its ugliest and the gap between rich and poor, most privileged and most miserable always gets larger. This is typical of traditional Monarchic rule so attractive to Thatcherism and Harperism. The difference between these two is the addition of the Puppet Leader factor under the latter.

If Canadians are serious about Justice being absent in Florida, Bushland, then lead the charge for a Canadian boycott of the State, not going there, buying nothing from there, etc. etc. a total boycott. Support this post and send your views to all your friends and relatives. The English love to go there. Go to Cuba instead. Maybe if we support Cuba we can continue to enjoy Americans not being there which is one of the great pleasures of being there since the Revolution.

I am trapped by Bell and I hate them. I watch 6 channels out of hundreds is it? They charge me $108. plus and do not offer any individual channels except 420. Everything is “packaged” forcing individuals to pay for numerous channels they never watch. There is no consumer protection. Since Harperism is entirely about serving CorpGrabs like Bell consumers are slaves to Corporatism. This situation is appalling. Any ideas except the obvious one of avoiding TV altogether, probably the zen solution and the healthiest. I will miss my soccer, politics, Aboriginal Channel and news but there is nothing new under the sun anyway.

The Rob Ford story is a non starter, nothing at all. People simply elected another incompetent, right wing, ignorant,uneducated bigot and expected him to be a serious administrator dedicated to his well paid job. The only thing to say about this is that the voters of Toronto were “Robbed”. And while we are on the subject of informed, thoughtful voting, how about looking not only under the carpet and in the secret sewers of Parliament Hill but in the mirror as well? Don’t we share some responsibility for the despicable gang led by Ali Baba on the hill? Peter Mckay, the great double crosser, Tony Clement the great misappropriator and gazebo lover, Vic Toews, the great Crime and Punishment winner of the Simple Mind award for Justice in Baseball; not to mention the Puppet Robot PM himself who would not recognize a spontaneous thought if it choked him trying to escape. Harper, not honourable in my opinion, claims to have known nothing of this outlandish scheme to buy off, (for what?) another crony, rip off friend of the know nothing PM. Does not tell us much does it? So where is the money? Where is the receipt? Where is the hearing? Where is the file full of accountability? Duffy could not get a loan from a bank because to do that he would have to give an address and he can’t figure out where his permanent address is, and you can’t get a loan if you tell them “no fixed address”. So go to the PM’s closest advisor, who has lots of money but no principles, except one, make more. Typical and the Perfect NeoCon response. Aren’t you ashamed you voted for a majority? Wow, we punished the Liberals for a golf ball, didn’t we, we are so smart! I know its a rant but I am suffering from Canadian Conservative Stress Syndrome. A bit like the intelligence of the Unions in Ontario punishing Bob Rae by voting for Mike Harris. Now, that was clever.

Before he waved goodbye and fled the country for far flung hideaways, the Acting Prime Minister, Stephen Harper”, addressed a Caucus meeting where the Press, admitted in a rare pointless act of “openness”, screamed for answers to ignored questions. I saw the video several times and then dreamt of it. It reminded me strongly of the Jersy Kosinski novel, Being There, where a simple minded sort of idiot named Chauncy Gardener, because he is a gardener does not have a real name, becomes President of the United States. Being almost completely inane everyone is able to project all kinds of opinions about the deep thinking profundity of Chauncy, who really only wants to watch television.
Could it be that Stephen Harper has now suffered in his not very complex mind a complete nervous breakdown and the vacuous smile and shallowest of vocalisations indicate that no one is at home?

Sir Walter Scott wrote ” O what a tangled plot we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” Apply this to Ottawa and remember to use “Harperism” whenever you want to explain or illustrate this quotation. How perfect. The concept of deception is the very core of Harperism. In fact Harperism means the art of Practicing Politics by making deception your governing principle. Stephen Harper was a Canadian politician who became Prime Minister from 2006 until 2015, first as Minority leader then with a Majority for the last two of his terms. His regime was marked by a large list of deceptions, secrets and dubious electoral schemes. His most famous, or infamous achievement was to be credited with the term Harperism, which became a useful word added to the English lexicon meaning “shady and deceptive governing practices.” Where other leaders and parties in Canadian history were of course accused of unethical or even criminal practice from time to time, no other was so thoroughly committed to the central principle of continuous deception. It was this dedication to deception that became the legacy and hallmark of the period
during which Stephen Harper governed.

My story continues like this: Unite the Right had as its goal precisely this kind of cult-like Christian Right/Oil Cartel/Arms boondoggle that we have seen for a few years now in NeoCon Ottawa. The Non Scandal sponsorship tempest in teapot was a flower shop tea party compared to this horror story. In fact it was a part of this Extremist plan for a commercial take over of Canada. Smear the Liberals and let’s take over with a little visceral help from the NDP and its Lust for Power mutual hatred of the Centrist Liberals. So it began. The PM, evangelist of Accountability, is now the magic Disappearing Wizard PM who does not want to answer questions so he is jetting away from the Langevin Block and his mini private government in residence. The Commons has been dismissed. Harper is in hiding. And Dan Brown’s novels are beginning to seem like innocent comedy compared to the Wizard of Ott. real live story.

Hey, we have all worked very hard to understand what is going on in Harper’s Canada. So here goes again, and let us share and enjoy this story. My version of the story goes like this. Harper is a puppet for forces representing the largest and richest Corporations. He has neither the intellect nor the Vision necessary to do anything himself. But he makes a good puppet. The man behind the screen who runs this show is the extremely rich and connected Nigel Wright. But everyone has an Achilles heel without exception. Pride and Arrogance is the Achilles heel of the very rich, arrogant and powerful. Mr. Wright did not know he had an Achilles heel. This is part of the Pride and Entitlement. This led to the one thing he should not have done. He flipped aside the screen. He has been revealed with all the strings to the puppet in both hands. Having seen this image the secret is revealed and can never be hidden again. Wow! Everything that is twisting this country out of shape can now be traced to a carefully formulated plan rooted in a Coup to turn Canada into a top down Corporation for the use and profit of the Mega Rich. Canada is a resource. Harper is the front man,( I use the term “man” here loosely), and Nigel Wright is the CEO of Canada. There is now a frantic scramble to put the screen back in place and nail it down. With your help this effort will be defeated.

Congratulations Canada. The people of Labrador have restored our faith in Democracy. Greed was defeated. Fraud was defeated. Lying and arrogance and people contempt was defeated.And hope for our value system and the democratic process was restored. Let’s all party.
