Lost in the mists of time, from Mesopotamia to the Steppes of the Caucasus are many ancient, priceless remedies arising from timeless adaptation and evolution by Human beings for their effective survival. Lost with them are the origins of the Habiru, the most effectively adaptive of human tribes who specialized in Survival by adopting a meta study of consciousness about survival itself. Among the best Health remedies devised or discovered by the Habiru were Kefir, and Half done Kosher dill pickles. Many stories are repeated in Folklore which share the idea that on the great trade routes like the Silk road Jewish traders took their Camels loaded with amazing artifacts and because many of these traders were also physicians they also took, administered and sold or traded medicines. Liquids were transported in bags like sheep stomachs, for instance milk was transported this way, leading to the discovery that milk carried and stirred this way by the gait of camels would ferment and become what we call Kefir. Experimenting by Jewish physicians led to the long list of human disorders of the body that could be effectively treated by Kefir. So precious was the gift of Kefir by Nature that the ancients decided it must never be sold. You could cultivate and give it away, but not sell it. You see since it was a gift of nature at no charge you must not look a gift camel or its burden in the mouth.
Since this amazing medicine is found in the prehistory time of my people and I have rediscovered it for myself and been gifted by a kind neighbour on the Island with some “seed’ OR Kefirans, I am now growing my own. I eat some every day. And though I do not have a camel I took my new batch of Kefir for a ride in my Korean Hyundai. It just loved this and is ready for harvesting today. The koreans are the world masters of Kimchee, fermented food, and though I personally believe my Kefir knows my car is Korean I do not insist other Camels, or cars or horses would not work also.
