Dear Friend, there is a field of literary, historical, and sociological studies that has been dubbed Post Colonial. Brenda Gold and I have been discussing this as a problem, since it implies in Canada that we have moved in time beyond “Colonial” and we believe this is not the case, as life in Harperland clearly reveals.
We recognize that the term “post” serves the interest of those who still wish to pursue the goals of Colonialism while pretending that “Canada” is no longer doing so. We urge all social democrats, human rights activists and compassionate Canadians to use the term Neo Colonial for the present state of dominant Euro Ethnic racism and power/land grabbing as a Master Plan. Whenever possible please refer to Neo Colonial with the goal of embedding the term into national consciousness.
